A Note From our Southeast North Carolina FCA Director

Dear Teammate in Christ,

Your partnership in Ministry makes FCA possible as together we reach thousands of athletes, coaches and all who they influence with the Gospel! This life-changing message brings eternal hope that is ours through Christ to many who have never heard the Good News. Together we are missionaries to the greatest influencers in our culture - Athletes and Coaches! Dr. Billy Graham once noted that a Coach will touch more lives in one year than most of us will touch in a lifetime. The harvest WILL BE plentiful as we labor together for Christ through FCA!

In our seven counties of Southeast NC we are developing Leadership Teams for Ministry through those who God is calling to serve. Our desire is to introduce FCA’s Ministry to these leaders, equip them with the resources they need and encourage them to serve as only they can through the power of the Holy Spirit who is at work in their lives.

We look forward to hearing from you and answering any questions you have about serving with FCA in your community! And as you continue to serve through FCA, you should always feel free to call or email our Ministry Staff Team! We count it a GREAT HONOR to serve with you any way that we can for the glory of God through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

Because He Lives,
Hal Hiatt

...FCA's Ministry Leaders are individuals who have at least three things in common:

1. A passionate Faith in Jesus Christ, serving Him as Lord and Savior.

2. A love for sports, athletics and coaching, (whether or not there is active participation in these).

3. A Calling to combine these two areas of life with a commitment to serve through FCA Ministry!

...At the heart of every FCA Ministry Leader you’ll find our Mission, Vision and Core Values

which have created a dynamic evangelistic synergy since 1954

FCA Mission

“To present to athletes and coaches and all who they influence, the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the Church.”

FCA Vision

“To see the World impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of athletes and coaches.”

FCA Core Values

  1. Integrity - We will demonstrate Christ-like wholeness, privately, and publicly. (Proverbs 11:3)
  2. Serving - We will model Jesus’ example of serving. (John 13:1-17)
  3. Teamwork - We will express our unity in Christ in all our relationships. (Philippians 2:1-4)
  4. Excellence - We will honor and glorify God in all we do. (Colossians 3:23-24)

We need you on the Team with FCA

in Southeast North Carolina!

Here are some important questions to consider as you think about serving with FCA
in one of our Southeast North Carolina Counties:

  1. What is your background in athletics and/or coaching and how will this shape or influence where and how you might serve most effectively?
  2. Do you know or have easy contact and access with any Teachers or Coaches who you can reach out to through FCA? Might these Teachers and Coaches also be willing to serve through FCA?
  3. Is there an active FCA Ministry at the Middle School, High School or College that is closest to your home? If not, would you be willing to help start an FCA Huddle ministry there?
  4. How can you involve your local church, small group or Sunday school class in FCA’s Ministry?
  5. Could you be an effective fund raiser or event organizer that would raise community support and awareness for FCA?
  6. How much time can you give each month to your Ministry with FCA?

There are MANY other ways that you can serve through FCA. PRAY diligently with focus and intensity for the needs of FCA in your area. SERVE with commitment in a specific function of FCA Ministry…GIVE financially to FCA’s Ministry so that it can grow and effectively reach more students and coaches for Christ.

I am a Christian first and last.
I am created in the likeness of
God Almighty to bring Him glory.
I am a member of Team Jesus Christ.
I wear the colors of the cross.
I am a Competitor now and forever.
I am made to strive, to strain,
to stretch and to succeed
in the arena of competition.
I am a Christian Competitor
and as such, I face my challenger
with the face of Christ.
I do not trust in myself.
I do not boast in my abilities
or believe in my own strength.
I rely solely on the power of God.
I compete for the pleasure of
my Heavenly Father, the honor of Christ
and the reputation of the Holy Spirit.
My attitude on and off
the field is above reproach -
my conduct beyond criticism.
Whether I am preparing,
practicing or playing;
I submit to God’s authority
and those He has put over me.
I respect my coaches, officials,
teammates and competitors
out of respect for the Lord.
My body is the temple of Jesus Christ.
I protect it from within and without.
Nothing enters my body that
does not honor the Living God.
My sweat is an offering to my Master.
My soreness is a sacrifice to my Savior.
I give my all – all of the time.
I do not give up. I do not give in.
I do not give out. I am the Lord’s warrior -
a competitor by conviction
and a disciple of determination.
I am confident beyond reason
